This Basic Sexology Programme follows the Nordic association for clinical sexology (NACS) criteria in providing a professional knowledge base in the different areas of sexuality. The emphasis is on working on and exploring the student's attitudes related to sexuality and human relationships.

After completing this programme one has acquired the basic knowledge of sexology. These skills provide sensitivity and professional tools to work with issues concerning sexuality, gender and relationships. 


Examples of the course content:

 

  • Sexual Attitude Reassessment (SAR) training in which the student learns and reflects their own attitudes and knowledge on sexuality
  • Basic sexological knowledge and different meanings of sexuality
  • Sexuality, gender and relationship diversity, gender sensitivity
  • Sexual and reproductive health
  • Sexual rights
  • Values, professionalism and ethics

 

Where?

Fully online! This program consists of different online modules and mentoring. You can be anywhere in the world. All you need is a device with an internet connection to access the materials.


Duration?

The program is equivalent to 30 ECTS, which can be studied while working full time. This program consists of online webinars and additional material, which the student is able to study flexibly in their own pace during the programme year.

For who?

We encourage professionals with different backgrounds to apply to this programme. Your educational background or professional experience can be for example in the social or health sector, youth work, education or culture. This programme is often required for enroling in further studies in sexual counselling, therapy, education and research. 

Others may study our online modules separately without aiming for Sexpo's Basic Sexology study diploma.
